- INTRODUCTION:
- =============================================================================
- NETMAIL is a FreeWare PPE. (I used to be one of this who believed ALL PPE's
- should be free. But after spending a couple of months refining this program
- I am inclined to change my mind...but for the time being...this one's free.
-
- NetMail was written users of Rob Kittredge's 'QFront' FidoNet Mailer program.
- It replaces the (E)nter command in your NetMail conference and helps your
- user through the process or entering a FidoNet address.
-
- There are other programs out there that do this an more but I wanted
- something simple and something that I could get to the Source Code for
- so that I could 'tinker' with it.
-
-
- SETUP:
- =============================================================================
- Put all the files in a directory. (I have a separate directory for each
- PPE that I run but in this case, you can put it in the same directory
- that you NetMail conference is in.
-
- Using you favorite text editor (or EDIT) edit the NetMail.CFG file.
-
- At the bottom of the NETMAIL.CFG there is a list of what each line means.
- Look it over before making changes.
-
- Go into PCBSETUP/CONFERENCES and select your NetMail conference.
- Add the 'E' command to your conference CMD file. and call the
- NETMAIL.PPE from it.
-
- These two are very important:
- Select 'Y' on Force Echo On All Messages
- Select 'Y' on Make All Messages Private
-
- I recommend that you set the level to request a Return Receipt to 0.
- The reason being is that I haven't found a way to check for this inside
- the PPE so we ASSUME that PCB is going to ask this question and we answer
- it.
-
- That's it! You should be set up and ready to go.
-
- ADDITIONAL FILES:
- =============================================================================
- In addition to the PPE, PPS, and CFG files, there are also several
- display files included in the archive. These are:
-
- WLCM This is the Welcome file. It is displayed before
- ANYTHING else id done. The one that comes with the
- program explains what information the user will need to
- continue.
-
- UGNT This is the Mail Urgency file. This is display before
- the user is asked what urgency to put on the letter.
- (IMMEDIATE, CRASH...) You can set up different UGNT
- files for different Security levels.
-
- ADDR This is the file that explains what a FidoNet address
- looks like and what the pieces are. This is especially
- helpful for new users who might not know what a FidoNet
- address is.
-
- RTNG This is the Routing Slip Screen. You can modify it to your
- heart's content but make SURE that you update the NETMAIL.CFG
- file if you change the location of the input fields. THIS
- IS REAL IMPORTANT. If you do not update NETMAIL.CFG with
- the new X & Y positions of the input fields then the program
- will look strange to the user.
-
- All of these files follow PCB's Security and Language naming protocols.
- (If your unlcear then check in your PCB manual on page 490)
-
